You know how sometimes you just have way too much going on in life and it starts to get to you? Well, we’re there. Or, I’m there. I’m pretty sure Ryan is there too. So lets go over this so you know why I haven’t had a chance to update this little blog in awhile. As you know, we’ve been preparing to buy a house this year… well, we’ve found a house! We’re going to our home inspection tomorrow morning! We found the place a little earlier than we expected, but hey, sometimes the right thing just happens. So in the middle of the house craziness and stress I got in a “little” car accident. Thankfully everyone is okay, no injuries, just some banged up automobiles. My car is totaled. Luckily I can walk to work – which is basically unheard of in Texas. In the midst of this I’m making dinner for a monthly prayer meeting we have at church, for 100 people! (Okay, that may not be a lot of people to feed for a professional caterer or chef, but I am one little person with one little kitchen.) On top of that, My sinuses have decided to rebel against me and I’m sneezing my head off and have an uncontrollably runny nose. Needless to say, I’m a little exhausted, and the last week and a half has been a little rough.
I have a feeling one day we’ll look back at this experience and say, “Hey, remember when we thought that we weren’t going to make it through that couple of weeks?”
Luckily we are super blessed to be surround by an amazing community of friends and family. And thankfully Ryan somehow seems to keep everything from falling apart, and is amazing at being the supportive and comforting hubby. And even more, we are continuously reminded to rely on strength from the Lord, because he knows what is happening in all of this, and in him we find comfort and solace. In the mean time Ryan is enjoying researching a new “used” car to replace my little damaged car, and I’m trying to keep my new house decor dreams under some semblance of control.
So here for you are a few “inspiring” kitchens I wish I was cooking in this weekend. And in the mean time I’ll continue dreaming of what to do in the future kitchen I’ll get to call my own.

This weekend I’m taking off with a few close girlfriends to Austin. We plan on eating too much, laughing too much, and general shenanigans. In preparation - I’m baking some tasty chocolate chip cookies for the road – and for the hubby to have on hand over the weekend. Lately I’ve been a little obsessed with chocolate chip cookies. I’ve making tons and tons of them. And my go to recipe for the moment is a recipe from the New York Times. They are pretty spectacular. I can’t really get enough of them. So try some out and enjoy your weekend!

These photos make me ache for spring — warmer weather, NO SNOW, sunshine, fresh blooms and green grass.

Alright folks — I hate to say this, because it makes me so so sad to think about — but my camera is out of commission. Unfortunately my awesome little camera has decided not to focus on anything – not the cakes, not the soups, not the super tasty chocolate mousse. So for now, until it gets fixed or I find another solution — it will be mostly inspiration and personal updates — hope you’re down for that! (And don’t worry, I’m sure I’ll figure out a way to get some great recipes on here.)
It is day number four of “Snow-pocalypse” here in Denton. The news anchors are calling the storm “Ice Force 2″. We have about six inches of snow outside of our apartment. This is day number 4 of people not going to work and all of the schools being closed. I know that up north this is nothing – but here in North Texas, we just aren’t prepared for this. But thats okay. We can just enjoy the pretty white winter-scape from inside. The snow makes me wish I had a nice big fireplace. So while I dream of fireplaces -take a gander at some of these amazing fireplaces…

Ryan and I are excited about viewing some homes this month. And with the serious start of a home search, my little obsession of designing my imaginary dream home is just getting worse. But it sure makes for some pretty inspiration pictures.
